Valentine's Day is Less Than a Week Away: 5 Books You Will Heart

The countdown is on: less than one week until Valentine's Day.  Here are 5 books that we've enjoyed reading in the spirit of the holiday. I hope you find a favorite in the group.  Mine is The Mysterious Valentine, but baby bookworm just adores Arthur's Valentine.

by Marc Brown

Join Arthur on his adventure as he tries to figure out who is his secret admirer!  After reading this book at the library we loved it so much it was one we had to own.  The CD includes the story read by Marc Brown, as well as a song.  Perfect for car rides.

Louanne Pig in the Mysterious Valentine (Nancy Carlson's Neighborhood)
by Nancy Carlson

Louanne Pig receives a Valentine but can't figure out who it's from.  See if your little one can solve the "mystery" in this adorable Valentine's tale from Nancy Carlson.

Mouse's First Valentine
by Lauren Thompson

What is little mouse's sister making with all of that lace and ribbon?  A perfect little book to inspire some Valentine creativity with your own "little mouse".

Where Is Baby's Valentine?: A Lift-the-Flap Book
by Karen Katz

Celebrating baby's first Valentine's Day? Then this is the book for you. The baby in the story looks under, behind, and in to search for her special Valentine.  Your baby will love lifting the flaps, and saying "no" as another Valentine object is revealed.

Fancy Nancy: Heart to Heart
by Jane O'Connor and illustrated Robin Preiss Glasser

Fancy Nancy at her fanciest in this Valentine's Day story about uncovering the secret admirer behind the trail of fuchsia glitter.  The book includes Valentine-themed stickers - what fun!  And, of course, your child always learns a few "fancy" words from this lovable character.

Can't find a favorite among these? Here are a few other Valentine's books we heart:
